The tinykeks Bakery came to life when Aysha Hodzic realized her love of baking sweet, delicate, European style cookies passed down by her mother, Esma. Every year, Esma would ship care packages to Aysha’s two young daughters containing homemade cookies from age old recipes. Alongside being a restaurant owner and private chef for more than 21 years, Aysha began making her own holiday cookies every year, sharing them with family, friends, and neighbors. In the beginning of 2017, more and more people got a taste of her unique, little cookies which sparked the idea of an online cookie (or keks) bakery. And thus, began the tinykeks journey Aysha and her team have taken on.
Aysha has always loved baking with the purest and finest ingredients she could find, as Esma has always taught her that high quality, from-scratch foods yield the best flavors—and she was right! The tinykeks Bakery utilizes wholesome, international, and local products like Irish butter, Italian flour, free range eggs, and bean-to-bar Belgian Callebaut chocolate. What really differentiates tinykeks is the discovery of ruby chocolate. That’s right. Chocolate beans discovered by cocoa experts working with Callebaut chocolate makers to harness a unique “secret from nature,” where beans yielded the perfect RUBY recipe. What is it? A chocolate so exceptional in color, fruity flavor, brightness, and sour notes that Aysha decided to incorporate into her keks creations as much as possible.
